In 2021 Autodesk commissioned Frost & Sullivan to perform research into the D&M and AEC industries to uncover sustainability initiatives and investments underway in the region to see exactly where we stand. The report gathered insights from 560 companies across APAC.
Products and services have evolved to focus on things like reduction in material consumption, waste reduction and circularity. To continue this trajectory, companies need to invest in R&D.
65% of companies surveyed consider sustainability a formal strategic vision in their leadership approach, while 21% are planning to design a strategic approach towards sustainability in the future. Only 1% of respondents view sustainability as less of a priority for their leadership.
Regulations and market forces, investor relations, and competitive advantage are the key drivers for sustainability across the companies interviewed. However, survivial in the market is what most drives efforts towards sustainability.
